Communications Specialist summer student
Canada Summer Jobs contract
Location: Remote (must have own computer, software and Internet connection – not provided)
Reporting to: CEO, QUOI Media Group
Duration: Eight weeks, commencing July 1, 2022; 30 hours per week
Remuneration: $20/hr
Seeking a self-driven communications specialist to join the growing QUOI Media Group team. This position will help with the daily operations of QUOI Media Group, including writing and/or editing mainstream media articles, social media promotion, website editing, e-newsletter editing, research, marketing and other communication activities as they arise.
Essential Skills:
- Strong writing and editing skills in English
- Strong social media presence and knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Canadian political and policy news (current events)
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian media landscape
- Proficient in MS Word and Google Docs
Additional possible skills:
- More than one language
- Advocacy skills
- Knowledge of the non-profit landscape in Canada
- Knowledge of disability issues in Canada
- WordPress
- PowerPoint
- Use of software to create infographics and posters

Requirements:
- Between the age of 15 and 30 at the start of employment
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Valid Social Insurance Number
- International students are not eligible under the Canada Summer Jobs program
